FAQ: AMS Technologies Company Overview
What does AMS Technologies do?
AMS Technologies is a European solution provider and distributor specializing in optical technologies, thermal management, and power electronics. We combine a network of qualified suppliers with our own engineering, testing, and production capabilities. This allows us to support customers from component selection to integrated systems and production.
What is the mission of AMS Technologies?
Our mission is to help innovative companies transform ambitious ideas into successful products. Under the principle “In Europe, for Europe,” we combine technology scouting, engineering, integration, and production capabilities across our European locations. This allows us to support customers with technically suitable, commercially viable, and resilient solutions.
Does AMS Technologies only distribute components?
No. Component distribution is an important part of our business, but we also develop customized assemblies, subsystems, and complete solutions. Customers can use our engineering and production services when standard products are not sufficient. This reduces the number of interfaces involved in complex projects.
What technologies does AMS Technologies specialize in?
Our core areas are optical technologies, thermal management, and power electronics. These disciplines often need to work together in applications such as laser systems, analytical instruments, medical devices, and industrial equipment. Our interdisciplinary expertise helps customers address these interfaces within one project.
What does “In Europe, for Europe” mean at AMS Technologies?
Our employees, data centers, engineering resources, and manufacturing capabilities are located in Europe. This supports close cooperation, transparent supply chains, and reliable project execution. It also allows customers to keep activities in Europe where this is required by regulatory, procurement, or customer requirements.
How does AMS Technologies ensure quality and traceability?
We use documented processes, rigorous revision management, and centralized procurement structures. Information such as bills of materials, workflow approvals, delivery performance, quality, and country of origin can be tracked throughout the supply chain. This supports consistent quality from development through production.
Which certifications and accreditations does AMS Technologies hold?
AMS Technologies AG is certified according to ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. We are also an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and accredited through JOSCAR. These certifications support quality, compliance, international logistics, and cooperation with customers in regulated industries.
Which industry associations is AMS Technologies a member of?
AMS Technologies is an active member of several European photonics and technology organizations. These include EPIC, Photonics Finland, PhotonicSweden, secpho, the Société Française d’Optique, and other regional industry associations. These memberships strengthen collaboration with technology partners and keep us closely connected to developments across the European photonics community.
Where is AMS Technologies located?
AMS Technologies is headquartered in Martinsried near Munich and operates offices and technology locations across Europe. These include locations in Germany, Poland, Sweden, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Our European presence combines local customer support with engineering, production, and specialist technology expertise.
Why do companies work with AMS Technologies?
Companies choose AMS Technologies because they need more than a component supplier. We combine cross-disciplinary expertise in photonics, thermal management, and electronics with European engineering and production capabilities. We can support the complete integration path from individual components and matched building blocks to integrated subsystems and OEM solutions, or take responsibility for only the project stages where additional expertise or capacity is needed. Customers benefit from a lifecycle partnership that reduces complexity, shortens development time, and adapts as their requirements evolve.
