2. März 2026 Battery-powered motion detection systems require sensors that minimize power consumption while remaining continuously available. In many designs, always-on operation still limits battery life and increases maintenance effort.
The latest addition to the DigiPyro Ultra-Low Power sensor line from Excelitas, the PYD 2597, directly addresses this challenge in a TO-5 package. Operating at supply voltages down to 1.4 V and with current consumption as low as 2 µA at 1,8V, it enables significantly longer battery life in remote and wireless applications.
An integrated Motion Detection Unit with interrupt functionality allows systems to stay in low-power standby until motion is detected, while the one-wire digital interface simplifies integration. Compared with camera- or radar-based approaches, Excelitas’ PIR technology also offers lower system cost and inherent privacy advantages.
The PYD 2597 as well as the evaluation and adapter boards are now available to customers in the Nordic countries through Azpect Photonics. Contact us today to get your quote!
Please note: Products from Excelitas are available from us only in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
